How do you associate adjacent cells in two columns so that when you sort column B the value of the cell in column A follows the cell in column B?
How do you associate adjacent cells in two columns so that when you sort column B the value of the cell in column A follows the cell in column B?
Start by including the column A cells with the Column B cells. Then, sort by column B.
Example: if the data is in A2:B10, select that range...then sort by col B.
Does that help?

I'll try that... thanks.
I was hoping that I explained myself clearly, I have a numbers in cells A1:A12 and different numbers in B1:B12. I want to sort column B in ascending order and have the numbers from column A stay with the sorted cells. Please be specific with your direction as "I'm still learning". Thanks!
1)Select cells A1:B12.
2)Data>Sort
No header row
Sort by: Column B, Ascending
Click the [OK] button.
That will sort the items in column B and any items in Column A will sort with their associated partners in Column B.
Does that work?
