I need help with recalling information

    Howdy all,

I am attempting to make a Timesheet work book where people could log their hours and such. One thing it has to be able to do is recall a list of current jobs so that employees can list which jobs they were working on. It would be ideal if this job data file were on our server computer so that if changes need to be made to it all users would get an updated job file each time they ran the worksheet. Can information on a seperate workbook be accessed over the network in the manner which i'm looking to accomplish?

I'm fairly new to all of excel, i believe that is the only question i have for now. Thanks everyone.

    The short answer is yes.
Here is how I have done something similar. I have a parts sheet that
contains prices. In my quoting sheets I have cells that pull in those
prices. When the quote sheet is opened the user is told that "This workbook
contains linked information. Would you like to update those links?"

The easiest way to do it is to have both sheets open at the same time.
Select the reference cell in the time sheet and place in a =; then click on
the cell you are wanting from the job sheet. You can do the same thing with
    drop down lists.
