    Transfer problems[Excel 97]

    Hi all,

I got a strange probs occuring with excel 97.

I had to change the format of some cells from dd-mm-yy to dd-mm-yyyy. So I used
custum and added 2 year number.

I worked perfectly but when I transfered my work to another computer, all the format I did have been removed.

I don't know if you guys understand but if you could help me plz,

    thank you,
    Tulkas

    Re: Transfer problems[Excel 97]

There are some date formats that excel picks up from the windows short date
setting. If you changed the format to one of those formats, then when it's
opened in the other pc, excel will go look at the windows setting for this pc
and use that in their copy of excel.

xl2002+ is more honest with the way it deals with dates.

At the bottom of that dialog (xl2002+):

Date formats display date and time serial numbers as date values. Except for
items that have an asterisk (*), applied formats do not switch date orders with
    the operating system.

So I think the answer is to use a date format that isn't common with a windows
short date format or to just format the dates again in the other pc.
