    Importing/Refreshing Data from Password-Protected Website

WARNING: I am not computer savvy at all. Please treat me like a four-year old when giving advice!

I need to refresh external data in Excel 2007 that is from a password-protected website. I simply need to know what I have to do to correct this issue so I can easily refresh the data without complications.

If there is a code that's involved, that's fine. But I have no idea where to put it, how to save it, how to run it. Hey, I warned you.

    Thanks!
    Daniel

I suspect it's an easy problem for people that know what's going on.

I actually looked around re: this for a little bit yesterday--

My question to you in turn is this:
When you are logged in to the website, does excel update just fine? So that, the problem is that the password protection blocks excel from getting in?

No, it still doesn't work. Logged in or not, Excel isn't able to update.

Well... let's do the simplest things first...

You're not just clicking F9 to recalculate, you're clicking Data tab => Connections Panel => Refresh, right?

And the Trust Center (Excel icon, upper left => Excel Options => Trust Center) has been set to allow web updates, right?

Yes to both. As a test, I imported some financial data from Google that changes by the second and refreshed it after a few minutes to see if it worked, and it did.
