How do I get a sum of time?

I am a cyclist and I used Excel to track my rides.
    Column 1-Date
Column 2-miles (which I have no problem with
    Column 3-time on the bike
I am looking to to see how I can add up all the time I have spent on the bike
    I.E
    Ride one 3:20:58
    Ride two 2:27:33
    So on and so fourth

I have clocked well ver a 100 hours. But when I hit sum I get like 7.19

    Does this make any sense???

Format the result cell as [hh]:mm to allow the hours to exceed 24.
