excel cell level protection

Hi All,

Am storing "Internal Data" of the macro in a excel cell so that next
Interfacing application running on the server can use it for further
process.

now the question is whether there is any way to Lock Only one cell in
the excel sheet from the user.

I tried selecting All the Cells in the Excel sheet. Format cell -->
Unchecking Locked option.
and selected only that cell, went to tools -- > protection and checked
locked option for the cell.

the problem here is the after this there is no option to include new
row or column in the excel file where in my excel needs to have the
ability to the user to Insert NEW ROW.

is there any away around to protect a single cell in a excel sheet
preferably with Password.

I only know of the way you describe.

However, how about if you develop your macro further to include an
"Insert New Row" button - the user clicks this and it unprotects the
sheet (password built in to the vba code), inserts a row where the
cursor is, then protects the sheet again? You could also have an
"Insert New Column" button. Both will have to ensure that your
protected cell stays in the same location in the sheet for your further
processing to take place.
