    Open Personal Macro Workbook

    I opened the Personal Macro Workbook (by Unhide it) so i can delete the
    macros that I don't need. Now, i want to create new macro, the computer kept
    saying that I have to open it. I don't know how to.

    Re: Open Personal Macro Workbook

    Open excel.

    Do you see Personal.xls?

    If you do, then window|Hide. And close excel and answer yes to the save prompt
    (to save it as a hidden workbook again).

    Then reopen excel.

    You don't need to unhide personal.xls (in excel) to work with the macros in the
    VBE.

    ===
    If this doesn't work,
    open excel
    hit alt-f11 (to get to the VBE)
    hit ctrl-r (to see the project explorer)

    Do you see your personal.xls project in that project explorer window?

    If not, then maybe you deleted that personal.xls workbook???

    =====
    One more thing to check...

    Maybe personal.xls was disabled...

    xl2002+ has the abililty to quarantine what it thinks are bad workbooks.

    They can keep track of them so that it doesn't even try to open them.

    If you look under Help|About MS Excel, you'll see a button called: "Disabled
    Items...".

    Check under there to see if it's marked not to open. You can enable it there,
    too.

    If the workbook is really bad, you may want to delete that copy and put a copy
    of your backup version into your XLStart folder.
