    Error 1706

I am trying to access Excel to open some files and every time I try to a
    message comes up telling me
" The feature you are trying to use is on a CD Rom or other removeable disk
that is not available. Insert the 'Microsoft Office XP Professional with
Front Page' disk and click OK". I have no idea what to do as we don't have
the disk. When I close this message down another error message comes up. It
    says ERROR 1706.
I managed to get into the document within Excel this afternoon, but it won't
let me now!!!! Please help me!
I would be most grateful for any help or as to why this happens, as it was
    fine before yesterday.
I look forward to hearing from you.
    Thankyou

    Hi gemsb,

most probably your problem is caused by automatic updates.

You can try to restore your computer to some earlier state before this
Tuesday. But of course the best solution is to insert the instalation
CD and finish the instalation of updates.

    Regards

    Ivan
