display just "Feb 14th" in date cell

Need cell A1 format to display just Month & Date (i.e Feb 14)

Data column is a list of dates in weekly increments, no calculation (other
than "=A1+7" in A2, pasted down.

Sure there is a "tweak" somewhere, but can't locate it - help, please? (it's
    not in Excel help).

Thanks, Bernard! Just what I need.

I now find it's a "standard" selection in "format cells"/custom - so WHY
isn't it in MS Excel Help??? Rhetorical question - no reply needed!

Just so you know you can create any format you like along the same lines,
and you can use them more than once as well, eg
