deleting a file

    deleting a file

    sir
    does not it seems illogical that one cannot open or modify a password
    protected xls/doc file, but the file can be easily delete it even from
    recycle bin

    have a thought on this

    No.

    The password is to prevent unauthorised access to the data, as most passwords are.

    There is no reason to prevent someone deleteing the file, crunching the harddrive, nor trashing the whole PC, these actions serve to enforce the idea of restricting access to the data.
