User Defined Functions in the Personal Macro Workbook

When using a UDF stored in the Personal Macro Workbook, is there a way
to eliminate the need to type the name of the workbook
(PERSONAL.XLS!...) before the function name? Or, if not, is there a
way to change the name of the Workbook to something much shorter, like
    one letter?

Just rename it in the XLStart directory.

Another thing is to put the UDF in a workbook and save it as an add-in
(*.xla) then select it under tools>add-ins
