Excel Chart - How to change dollar value?

In a chart that has dollars on the Y axis, large dollar values take up a lot of space. Is there a way to change the values - for example, change $60,000,000 to $60,000 and have a note on the chart that indicates dollars are thousands of dollars?

hi SDBoca, u can change your source by dividing it by 1000 or change the format on the y-axis to a custom format:
#,##0,
or
#,##0," K"
u can also change your chart legend to indicate in thousands by showing
'000

Hi,
Right click on the Y axis
Select "Formatting the axis"
In axis options "Display Units" select the desired unit value
The new unit is displayed at the top of the axis
