Weeks Passed Formula Help

Hi Everyone,

First time poster, looking for some advice with a formula that I'm struggling to work out. I've been tasked with reforming a spreadsheet and whilst I've completed 90% of it, I'm stuck on this one last thing.

I need to apply a formula that will work out how many weeks have passed and display a number for the amount of weeks passed, for example;

If A1 is 07/05/12 then A2 would display '1' as a week has passed and after two weeks a '2' and so on.

If anyone has any ideas, I would be extremely grateful as it is the final thing I'm trying to add.

What is your base date? i.e. How many weeks has passed since when?

Sorry, my base date would be the current date. So how many weeks have passed between 07/05/12 and today.

Maybe
=INT((TODAY()-A1)/7)

assuming a 'week' is defined as any period of 7 days.
