Simplify, by using human language, the instructions on applying a simple
formula to fill a column. Example: Click cell contents for first value
highlight, show option box saying "perform this operation re-iteratively on
successive cells in this column. Show a place to enter the formula for
modifying the cells in the selected range.
Let the user enter a valid formula to generate each successive entry down
the column. Use semantic construction that makes sense to a human, and keep
the action path more direct. Get out of the jargon, with needed definition
look-up and resulting confusion, and use PLAIN ENGLISH. Should be a simple
fix. Keep operation pathways shorter. This will help all your software
environments. Use people who aren't programming specialists to review how
you present directions. You sometimes verge on appearing to have written
such directions by persons who have English as a second language. We get
enough of that from overseas-generated product manuals. Aren't you still
based in the US?

Thanks for your attention. Right.
