how do i count the number of cells used in a coloum?

COUNTA will also count those cells with non-printing characters, and those
with formulas resulting in zero or null, and hyperlinks..........

There are a number of ways to count "occupied" cells in a column,....if you
have a specific requirement, post back and let us know.
