I can create new spreadsheets but old ones drive is unavailable

I am able to create a new spreadsheet in excel, but when I try to open a
previously used spreadsheet from my most recently used docs, my docs or from
the open menu is excel I get an error message "drive or network connection
is not available make sure disk is inserted properly (not using a disk) or
    network resource is available" Help!

RE: I can create new spreadsheets but old ones drive is unavailable

The problem is just as the Error message states.......the place where that
file was last saved, is not available to you at this time. Could be you
saved the file to a floppy, or Jump Drive, and they are not plugged in right
    now.
