Is there a way to have the row change to a color (Green) when a certain word is entered into one of the cells on that row (ex... cell c4 has sod in it and all of row 4 is made green?)

Formula Is: =$C$4="sod"
and click Format tab and choose Green colour from Patterns, click Ok
enter sod in C4 and see result.

what i was looking for was a way to color each row in the worksheet area where "sod" was listed in the column "d" and each time it would see sod it would color the row green.
this is on an inspection report that we do for subdivisions that have 100+ houses and we record the status of each lot.
Select whole data range, e.g. A1:Z100
Use Format > Conditional formatting > formula is option
=$d1="sod"
choose green formatting
