Question Conditional Format using remote cells

Here's probably a dummy question that I hope you can help me with:

I want to apply conditional formatting on a cell (color changes) based on it's value in relation to another cell. I have a cell that shows the date a task is due, in another cell I have a drop down list that has the options "Complete" and "Incomplete", with the default on complete. I would like the cell to be green in color until it's due date, after which it turns red, unless "complete" has been selected, in which case I would like it to stay green...

    make sense?

You can use Conditional formatting, Formula, first 'formula' test for 'complete' and set colour to green, second formula test date and set colour to red, and third case if cell is not blank set volour to green.
