Open non-CSV file as a CSV file

Can anyone tell me how I might be able to set up a file extension in "Folder Options/File Types" so that it will open my files the same way a CSV would open in excel. In the past - I have just been adding a .csv at the end of the file name, but there are so many that this can be time consuming. I tried duplicating the same settings that CSV uses for it's Open action, but it keeps placing a %1 at the end of the Application path. No idea what that does.

What is/are the file extension(s) that you wish to change to .csv? It's possible to run a batch file from the command line using the ren (rename) command to rename the files all at once.
As for the %1, if you are in Explorer and you double click a file, say, myfile.xls, Windows will replace the %1 with the file name, start Excel and Excel will automatically load/open myfile.xls.
