Advanced Filter Criteria

Hello I am trying to specify a range as my criteria in my advanced filter definition. Excel doesn't understand it.


Suppose I want to see all records between the date Jan 1, 2006 and Dec 1, 2006. I tried using 'Between' and it didn't work. I also tried '> #1/1/2006# and < #1/12/2006#' and it didn't work.

I couldn't even get '< 10 AND > 20' to work.

I know how to do it with autofilter but not with Advanced Filter.

I presume that you are referring to the 'Custom AutoFilter'.
You could use 'is greater than or equal to' and select the lower item of your range from the list, then use 'is less than or equal to' and select the higher item of your range from the list.
You cannot type formula, you must use the options presented and select items from the list supplied.

Thanks for responding. I knew how to do that using the Autofilter (in fact I mentioned I know in my post but np ). I am trying to make complex filters (with mulitple requirements which autofilter can't do) so I want to know the syntax for the Advanced Filter. It's below AutoFilter under Data->Filter->Advanced Filter.
