Please Help, no idea

Hi Guys

I hope you can help me – I’ve been given a project for college. I am required to develop an expenses workbook, which needs to show the cash flow, receipts etc. This I don’t think will be too much of a problem [I Think..!!!], I more concerned with the design – We are required to produce a main menu page with buttons linking to the various worksheets, again I assume this can be done using simple macros. The main issue with this case based scenario is that I am required to have a worksheet within a worksheet..? I am totally lost on how to do this. For example how can you actually put say worksheet 1 into worksheet 3...? Also, I am required to have a fixed coloured frame with a logo around the outer worksheet, so that when you scroll up and down the worksheet the frame remains stationary...? I hope someone can help me, I am extremely grateful for any help or advice.

Hi,

Are you sure a worksheet within a worksheet ... !!!

My guess is that you have to link them ... i.e cells in the "destination" worksheet must be linked to the "source" worksheet ...

Carim thanks for such a quick response....

Erm...I’m assuming that’s what’s required, otherwise how would you have a fixed frame to the ’left and above’ so that when you scroll through the worksheet the frame doesn’t move, it remains stationary with the logo and appropriate buttons to print ect... I'm really concerned because i cant quite grasp this, and this is where the majority of the marks can be obtained ‘User Interface’. I’ve already demonstrated my knowledge and understanding of formulas but not really spent any time on the HCI structure....

Any further help or advice would be brilliant Thanx

I do not know how you would go about embedding a spreadsheet in another however you can embed a spreadsheet in a word document and a word document in a spreadsheet - I had a quick try and ended up with a spreadsheet with a word document embedded in it and then an excel document in that word document - so effectively the spreadsheet was within another spreadsheet.

Even so - it seems an unlikely thing to do!

sounds to me like your being asked to "freeze panes" in the current window.

for example try selecting cell C3, then selecting window-------freeze panes
this will freeze everything to the left and above c3 which seems to be what yourbeing asked to do

Ok – Thanks for all the help from you experts – I feel somewhat foolish now, having re-read the question, I think what they are actually looking for is definately something more along the lines of ‘Freezing Panes’ – Oops, I’m really sorry guys, how to make a fool of yourself..!!! Still if any of you guys have any advice or can recommend links to creating macro buttons for printing specified areas or a search facility, please fell free to advise – And yeah, I’m sure you lot are having a good laugh...!!!!!!..lol..
