Data list ?

I have cells all referenced to another cell as part of a formula to determine the sheet they pull data from. If I use a combobox or List I do not know how to reference the value entered in the formulas.

Presently I have formulas like this

=INDIRECT( "'" & $C$8 & "'!" & "bq6")

with $c$8 being the value I need. I would like C8 to be setup as a list or something so that the name can be selected rather than typed in. Is this possible somehow? Data validation still does not let you select from a list. Combobox or list is possible if it is possible to reference the value.

I don't know why it didnt work the first time but I have managed to do it now using data validation and dropdown list
