Exgtrmely slow: Changing default directory during [file-save as]

    Hi folks
I'm helping a coworker. On my machine when I do a "File-Save as" I can quickly direct the save to any directory on C or to remote servers I am connected. On Lisa's machine when she clicks the "Save in" box the system hangs for a good 2-3 minutes before releasing control to the user to select a new location.
We both have same machine, same XP professional OS, same Excel 2002 version. Under options we both have the same default file location under "My documents". I don't think that default applies to "save as" as mine defaults to the last directory I saved to. In any case the default loc is not the problem. The problem is switching to any loc without haveing to wait 3 minutes. I timed it.
Needless to say this person is saving all her files in one loc.
    Any help will be apopreciated.

    Try these first,

    1. Re-boot the machine

    2. Get the latest up-dates from Microsoft for Office and XP
