    Pivot table running total

    Hi,
    I have a Pivot Table of External data.
    The row item is a serial number
    The column item is date which is grouped by years and quarters.
    I also have two data items from the same field: one is the sum of the field and the other is a running total of the date.
    Within every year the calculations are ok (e.g. for the 3rd qrt the first item gives the sum of only the records of that qrt and the other gives the sum of the records from starting of the year to current qrt.

    What I need is to get the sum of the records from day one to current qrt (let's say 6 qrts).
    The database has records for 4 years and growing.

    Hi,

    Is your database range defined with a dynamic range ?

    What prevents your query from adding up your records ...?

    let my try again,
    i have 2 data items in my pivottable.
    the first sums the records from the qrt lets say III/06.
    the second is a running total on date (column item grouped by years and qrt)
    and it sums the records from jan 01 2006 to sep 30 2006.

    i want to sum the records for that column from jan 2002 (day one) to sep 30 2006.

    and for the first qrt of 2005 i want to sum the record not 01-01-05 to 03-31-05 bt 01-01-2002 to 03-31-2005.

    hope now i'm clearer
