    Normal / Page Break Preview

    Hi all,

I seem to have a problem that when I view my Excel spreadsheet on the Page Break Preview, the computer takes longer to work out formulas than when I view it on Normal.

For example, my first column is set to change numbers entered into date format (dd.mm.yy), so I would enter 6-12 and it would change it to 06.12.06. However, I have noticed that when I type it when in Page Break Preview, the program holds for about 3-5 seconds (in Normal view, it would calculate the cell almost immediately) and only then displays it correctly. Then either in column 2 or 3 (depending if the money is in or out), I would enter an amount which automatically changes the balance in column 4 and the same thing happens.

I know its not a serious problem, but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed the same and has been able to work out a way round (other than just viewing the page in Normal view).

NOTE: Although there are several books in my spreadsheet, this only applies to a couple and not all of them. Could it be to do with the number of rows in the spreadsheet - ie the "longer" the sheet, the more time it takes to calculate the cells?

I look forward to any replies.
