    formatting excel file

I am importing data from an external database thru a predefined query.

When the data comes in to Excel, I need to format things like the type size, font, column widths, etc. After I reformat the excel file, can I save it as a "style" or something? Each time I reimport the data from the external database, it comes in in it's original format and I need to change it. Any ideas how to avoid this?

    Thanks!

    Question Will this do?

I tried this on a very simple spreadsheet and it worked
    Its worth a try.
If you are making identical format changes every time:

Open a workbook you have already formatted
    Delete surplus worksheets
Save as a template, remember the name and close it
Import your data into a new workbook
Right click on the tab and insert
    GENERAL (tab at the top) > {your template name}
Select the whole inserted sheet (click blank square where row and column headers meet)
    Click format painter
Tab across to the sheet containing your imported data
Select the whole sheet (paste format using painter)
    Delete the inserted sheet

The template is there for future use
The way I read your post sounded like you were formatting one worksheet at a time but this would work with multiple sheets if you have layered data (just more worksheets in your template)
