    Sorting data with blank fields

Im trying to sort through data which has names of locations on the far left, with the date. But then there are roughly 10-11 rows of different chemicals and then the data recorded for that chemical, to the right. It is 45000 lines long, and im just trying to sort the data in locations, but when i sort the data, the 9-10 empty rows below the loction name get sorted to the bottom with all their chemicals and values. Is there anyway around this, as merging the cells for 45000 lines will take weeks.

Would be very grateful if anyone could help on this

Thanks, I hope this makes sense at all.

    Alex

You can use this macro to fill down the column for location.

The macro assumes that it is Column A you want to fill down. If it is a different column, then replace fillColumn = "A" with the correct column letter (in quotes).
