hi everyone... I've posted this before, I think but i still need some assistance. I need a way to use data verification or some form of auto correcting when data is copied and pasted into a range of cells. I know about the drop down data verification boxes, but they don't work when I paste into the cells. Is there a way to link those cells to like a list of valid options (possibly on another sheet) that it will match and possibly autocorrect any info that is spelled incorrectly? Right. Neither cell validation or Conditional Formatting will remain "intact" when you copy/paste or drag/drop.

So, the only way to enforce the validation you want in Excel is to use a VBA routine (macro) that will run whenever a change is made to the worksheet.

Flagging (highlighting, for example) items that do not match a given list is pretty simple. Correcting spelling errors, though, that is really difficult.
