    please please help driving me crazy

    Cells A4:A9 Contain The Letter "S" Cell A10:A19 Are Blank, A20:A32 Contain "S". I Want To Be Able To Count A4:A9 As One Spell Of "S" And A20:A32 As Another Spell Of "S", Giving Me A Total Of 2. Please Can Someone Tell Me How to do this

    Hi,

    in B4 put

    =IF(A4=A5,"",A4)

    and formula fill that down the column, then at the end (B34) put

    =COUNTIF(B4:B33,"S")
