Customise Cell Protected Warning Message

Hi,

Can anybody advise me if it is possible to change the standard Cell Protection Warning message i.e. when you try to enter or edit a protected cell you get a standard message i.e. “The cell or chart you are tying to change is protected and therefore read only etc etc…….

What I would like to do is to have my own customised warning message

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated

I think what you would need to do is unlock the particular cells for which you would like your custom message, then use data validation on those cells to only allow the values/text that you would like. You can then enter your custom message on the Error Alert tab of Data > Validation from the menu.
