Dates

I want to be able to enter 011707 into a cell and have it change it to 01/17/07. I cannot seem to remember how to get this to work. I have changed the format to in the cells to date and tried custom settings but I always get something like 1/19/32 as the date.

If you want the result to be a true date in excel, which you can use in calculations etc. then you need to use VBA for this, a worksheet change event

....but if you only want it to look like a date you could custom format the cells as

00"/"00"/"00
