Excel won't open double click on SBS server

I got a problem with opening Excel sheet on de 2003 SBS server.
Al this happens after power went down.

    Example:

1*) When I start Excel and open sheet (on a server location) by "File -> open" it works.
2*) When I copy a sheet (using windows explorer) to a local disk and double click the file (even without having the Excel application running) it will open.
    3) When I doubleclick an Excelfile on the server location It will not open "cannot open file" even option 1* and 2* will not work any more on this file (after one hour it will work again with the first option).

I only got the problem with Excel filles.
    Who can help me?

    Frank

    Hi,

not sure, but firstly you could try to run

    Excel /unregserver

    then run Excel /regserver

    to re-set the default settings.

    Thanks Bryan,

    But I did that already

Also I did a new Installation of Office 2003 and unchecked the option "ignore other applications" on the general tab in Excel

. . and checked in Explore (My Computer) Tools, Folder Options, Filetypes that the FileTypes specify for .xls files (MS Worksheet) that Excel.exe is to open?

Try to open a .xls (from the server) via Open With, Choose Program, and nominaate Excel.exe and Always Use this program.

Did you also check for (and delete) any Personal.xls (just in case etc).

Is this just for you or for anyone on the server?

Otherwise it's probably back to the Server for a reason.
