Printing Problem: Any tips to reforma?

I have tab in a workbook which I imported from a workbook a colleague sent me. It contains a lot of formulas etc linked to other sheets within my workbook. The problem with it is any negative numbers (which appear in red on this tab) and some cells highlighted in darker colors print with very poor quality – the negative numbers are fuzzy and unreadable - some of the darker colors print out very pixelly and make the numbers very difficult or impossible to read. I remember when this used to be an issue with previous versions of Excel. However, while the rest of the tabs in my workbook do not have this problem, this one sheet continues to be a problem and it contains a multitude of numbers which I need to analyze and present on paper. I think this has something to do with formatting in the previous excel version that my friend was using being saved.

Any tips to reformat or update this sheet, in order to eliminate this problem would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Well do you want to change the sheet or just get it to print? Often your printer will have a print text and graphics as black and white option (perhaps in advanced options) does this help? Or what quality is the printer printing at. Otherrwise you can change the formats of the cells without changing the formulas. But with seeing the sheet, it is impossbile to be more specific.

    Thanks for your reply!

I want to change the sheet to update the font formats so that it will print normally. I am printing in black and white and have no problem with my printer. Let's first focus on the negative [red] numbers. For some reason the earlier versions of Excel had a problem with printing red numbers. They look fine on the monitor but come out all fuzzy when you print them. The negative numbers on my other sheets print out fine. Same thing happens with background colors in cells. I could have a darker background on the other sheets, and the numbers in them would be visible on a print out. However, on the imported sheet, the colors, while look fine on the monitor, print out very pixely, and the numbers in the cell are not legible. Because I have so many color coded cells on this sheet, as well as negative numbers, I cannot read much of what I print out.

So, I would like to somehow update the formatting for the sheet, if possible. Not sure how.
