need help with creating formula in excel

hi
i compile attendance records for an NGO.
in attendnace i compile attendnace of each child for three months.
i then calculate percentages and categrise the data as 100%, 75-100%, 50-75%, 25-50% and below 25%.
i use the frequency formula to calculate the number of children in each category. i also have a column showing whether the child is a male or female. i want to know if there is a formula that could directly give me the number of males and females in each of attendance category mentioned above.

You could probably add a condition to your frequency formula. Can you post an example of the formulas you're using?
