    Somewhat Advanced Prob...I believe

    I am hoping that someone can answer a specific question.

    Is there a way to create a spreadsheet (without using macros/vbasic) that would only allow another user to input data in specific cells in a specific order, then if there data does not meet a pre-determined condition, stop the user from being able to move on? At the same time the user would only be able to input his/her data once.

    Re: I am trying to set up a spreadsheet for students to input data into certain fields. I would like to be able to set the spreadsheet up in this regard;

    i) First of all, they would only be able to access the spreadsheet once (is this possible?)

    ii) Secondly, once in the spreadsheet, they would input data into specific un-locked cells in a precise sequence (ie. #1, #2, #3...)

    iii) If their value does not meet the pre-determined amount within a certain percentage of error, Is it possible to terminate their use of the spreadsheet, and still gain access to their work (to be graded)

    If not possible without macros/VB, would it be very difficult to set something up like this just by reading up on VB and the language.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm not an Excel wiz, but I'm pretty sure there's no way to come even close to what you're asking the software to do without vba/macros.

    If you've never coded vba before, it would probably take you awhile to figure it out reading books. It might be better to post the exact logic you want to use in this forum, with an example spreadsheet laid out to your specs. The great minds in here can certainly assist and get the project moving forward.
