    Let's say your spreadsheet contains the range D4:D200 and you want to add 3% to each number. In column E, or whatever empty column, select cell E4 and type the formula

    Copy this formula down column E. Then, select the range E4:E200 (it should be already selected), Ctrl-C, select D4 and right-click and select Paste Special > Values.

    if you just want to add 3 percent, you don't need a new column. just type 1.03 in an empty cell. right click on that cell, and copy. then highlight the column with the numbers, right click on it, hit paste special, the press multiply.
