    excel file recovery

I opened an Excel file from yahoo email. It opened in Excel page. I did some changes to the file and I pressed the save button. I did not use save as to save it under a file name in my computer. I closed the file and I opened some other excel files from my computer to do some work. Now I wanted to open the saved file from my email. I donot the see the changes that I did to the file. How can I open the file with the changes I have done???

In my case, when I open Excel files directly from Outlook (Yahoo mail may do the same), it puts a temporary copy into the folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings\pjoaquin\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK*

    Where * = any combination of letters/numbers, e.g. OLK5B

If I save the file I'm working with, without using save as, it will usually save the changes to that temp location file. The file in the e-mail does not get updated with the changes. If you cannot see that folder, you may have to un-hide hidden files in Explorer (Tools > Folder Options > View > Select 'Show hidden files and folders'

    Hope that helps!
