Blank Cells But Not Null Values

I have two workbooks, one of which is used as a gateway for MS server to import from.

Workbook one contains formulas and this data is copied across to workbook two.

Where i have formulas like so =if(a1="","",a1) when there is no data they appear as blank only when these cells are coppied accross to workbook 2 the server doesnt see them as null values when it imports from book two even through the data is being copied across as pasted values.

Not sure if there is a workaround or why this happens?

    Please help?

when you paste as values do a bit more.
select the column with pasted values.
Data > Filter > Auto Filter
then select Blanks from Filter drop down and select the same column and press Delete key.
select all from Filter drop down and use this data.
