Question Opening Excel files from Windows Explorer

    Greetings, folks.
I have a friend who is unable to open Excel files from Windows Explorer, or straight from My Documents. This should be standard procedure.
The files can be open by starting Excel and then accessing the files. Seems weird. Anybody any ideas?
Any advice would be appreciated. Kind Regards, Andre

Opening Excel files from Windows Explorer

Just as an aside, I get the aforementioned "problem" when I have turned on 'Ignore other Applications' under tools --> options --> select the general tab and check the checkbox Ignore other Applications

If you have changed that recently without changing it back, that may be your problem
