Hi again… I have been trying to compare lines on two worksheet tabs to show who has to pay for something and who will get it for free
I have codes of 5numbers and 2 letters e.g. 12345NK, 65423JH etc in column U on FREE tab, I also have the same codes in column B on the SESSIONS tab, however on the SESSIONS tab there are more of these codes than there are on the FREE tab and not necessarily in the same order as both tabs gets sorted by different criteria on occasions. I want to be able to see at a glance who on the SESSIONS tab is also on the FREE tab
In the SESSIONS tab down column A (starting at row 2) I have put the following and copied it down:
=IF(ISNUMBER(MATCH(SESSIONS!B8,FREE!U:U,0)),VLOOKUP(SESSIONS!B2,FREE!U:U,"PAID","FREE"))
I get either FALSE or #VALUE! – the FALSE is next to those that are not on the FREE tab and the #VALUE! Next to those codes that are on the FREE tab as far as I can see by manually checking the firs t few
What I would really like is to show PAID next to any codes NOT on the FREE tab and FREE next to those that are there
I did try using ISTEXT but that just chucks up a load of #NAME?s
Anyone know what I am missing / doing wrong please?
Huge thanks in advance
Rae
