converting xls to csv and keeping format

I have a large data file in xls that must be saved in a csv file to upload into our system. Most of our part numbers look like dates and everyway I've tried to save it in csv it converts back to a date format. I'm new to this site and have searched for answers with no luck. Any ideas would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I'm not sure if it will help without seeing your file, but you might have to add a ' in front of all the part numbers.
