    Index & Match or Vlookup

    Hi:

    I have a problem.

    I have a work book. The first one has a table of product details. In the first page, the main columns are -

    1. Item_code
    2. Item_descriptions

    The secong page has -

    1. Item_code
    2. Prices
    3. Quantity on hand. (QOH)

    What I want is to match the item_code and bring the corresponding Prices & QOH in my first page.

    I am not used to Excel, but in order to take the data into my oracle database, its one of the way I was probing.

    I shall appreciate help from you guys.

    Thanks - Prabir.

    You can use Vlookup()

    e.g. =Vlookup(A2,'Sheet2'!A:C,2,0) for Prices

    and =Vlookup(A2,'Sheet2'!A:C,3,0) for QOH

    where A2 house the Item_Code on Sheet 1 and Sheet2!A:C houses your lookup data table.

    adjust as necessary.
    Where there is a will there are many ways.
