    Adjustable scales

    Hi all,

    I'm trying to construct a graph which uses two different scales in one axis:

    A dataseries needs to be plotted on a logarithmic scale up to a certain point (450), after which the data should be plotted on a normal scale. I've tried adjusting the maximum of the scale to 450 when using a logarithmic scale, but Excel keeps running the graph to a maximum of 1000.

    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, regards,

    Peter

    I afraid I don't know the answer to your question, but does this link offer any assistance?

    The only way I can think of getting something close to what you seem to want is to pre-compute the data onto the scale you want then plot it on a standard (linear axis) chart.

    Thus:
    ChartData=IF(data<450,log(data),(data-450)*log(450)+log(450))

    I'm not sure if this is exactly what you want, but it might be enough to point you in a fruitfull direction.

    This would be plotted on a chart without tic labels
    You could then add an extra data series using the + symbol to create the tic marks where you want them.

    Very much a bodge, but you might be able to build on it...
