Excel spell check issue or?

Hi there,
I have a general wondering. I am from Germany, therefore using the German version of Microsoft Excel 2002. It is really annoying that every time I try to tip DNA in a cell Excell changes it to DENN. DENN means thus in german and I thought it would be some kind of spelling check correction. So my question is : how can i turn the spelling check off? and if this is not the problem what else cann it be? For example can this be some kind of a formula? And still the one and only thing I want is to have DNA when I write it and not DENN. I solved the problem when I used 'DNA' but still this is not good enough and pretty annoying.
