If you click in a cell then click the hyperlink icon, go to Linkto: Email address and type it in the email address box

    Excel link question revised:

Thanks Old Chippy, but not quite what I was getting at. I'd like to have in my spreadsheet a reference to the contact and then hyperlink it to the information within Outlook / Contacts for this person.

    Thanks
    Dave

I don't think it's possible to link to an actual Contact within Outlook, but you can hyperlink to Outlook by put something like this in the hyperlink address

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE

This will open Outlook, that's the best I can come up with, sorry

    Thanks anyways

    Thanks OC
I guess another alternative would be to just copy every contact onto a spreadsheet so I have hyperlink access to it from later work. This is one of them irritating nonsensical MicroSoft issues.

    Regards
    Dave

Hey, just found this link, does this help? See "Subscribers' Exclusive Tip"

    http://www.personal-computer-tutor.c...5/newabc15.htm

For it to work properly the name must be in the same format as listed in Outlook, for example if the names in Outlook are Surname, First Name, then this should be typed in the address

    Thanks Old Chippy!

    You rock!

It works well except I get the "are-you-really-sure-you-want-to-do-this-the-world-may-end" pop up

    Thanks
    Dave

    Hi Dave,

You can disable the Warning, but only do this if you are confident you know what you are doing with the registry, else "the-world-may-end"

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829072

Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.
