Excel Crash on Save

I have been having problems with excel crashing every once in a while when i try to save a document. I am saving to a network resource, but that does not seem to be the problem since most times the save is successful. The only times the document crashes is if I walk away and leave the document open for extended periods of time. When I come back and try to save excel crashes. What could be the issue?

Hi - I'm suspecting it might be some corrupt Excel temp files that are leftover that could be interfering with the AUTOSAVE feature (usually set for every 10 minutes). Some ideas include deleting all items in the Windows/TEMP folder or turning off the AUTOSAVE feature to see if symptoms improve.
