i have done a basic soccer league table, have done the goals scored and goals against, but how do i do played.

    i.e

    Team A 2-0 Team B
    Team C 0-1 Team D

as you can see all teams have played one game, how do i make excel add the games played without using VBA

I can't tell how your data is laid out, if you have 3 columns, A with first team name, B with score, C with second name and column B is blank before games have been played try

    =SUMPRODUCT((A2:A10="team A")+(C2:C10="team A"),--(B2:B10<>""))

    Soccer Table

Hi, The easiest way to determine the number of games payed is by adding together the games won, drawn and lost.So start by telling your excel who has won the each game. I have done many league tables the functions you need to get your head round are Sum-If, VLookup,Rank and the If functions, have agood look at these functions. good luck Howard
