    Conditional Formatting Today and Older

    Hello, I rarely use excel and i am organizing a large list with expiration dates.
    What i am trying to do is have the dates that are today and older turn a certain color, so that they stand out among the others. I know I need to use conditional formatting but i don't know where to start with the formula.

    I looked on the microsoft website and a couple other forums but they were no help.

    Thanks a lot!

    Go to Conditional Formatting.
    In the drop down (the one that says Cell Value is) choose formula is
    Assuming the format is to be applied to A1, enter formula:

    =A1<=Today()

    Let me know if that works

    Once you have applied it to a cell, you can copy the cell (Right click, copy or press Ctrl+C).
    Next, highlight the range that you want to have the same formatting.
    Right click on the highlighted range, choose paste special, and choose format.

    Let me know if that works.

    Hi I've got a similar problem, however I am good with the CF turning the date red older than or equal to today, however the next step I want so CF2 is how do I turn the font back to black once the date has been entered?

    I could add a 2nd blank column if that helps?
