excel open file issue warps spreadsheet

my excel has started opening normal files that result in oversized cells, and oversized pages. any ideas to help get things back to the default?

did you try toolbar>view>zoom>100%?

yes i changed the view and that's not it - the actual format of the spreadsheet is changed. it opens on other computers just fine.
