How do I sort while keeping integrity of the rest of the sheet

How do I sort but have the other data move with the column I'm sorting? Whenever I sort, for example, by name, the address and phone numbers columns stay the same and are therefore incorrect with the newly sorted columns. I've looked everywhere.

I'd add an autofilter to your report.

select the title row, go up to data, go to filter, go to autofilter. This will allow you to sort, and sorts all of the accompanying data with it

    Sam,

Simply select the entire sheet prior to sorting. Click the small gray box to the left of column A and above row 1, then click Data -> Sort...

Sort by whichever columns you want, all your data will stay together.

If there are tables of data in other sections of the worksheet that you don't want changed when you sort another section, simply select the range of cells in that section (for example, A15:G500) and then use Data -> Sort...

    thanks!

Gosh you all made it seem so easy. I've wasted HOURS trying to figure out how to sort without messing up the other columns.

    Thanks so much!
